Here’s an easy and quick guide to build your own Raspberry Pi Minecraft Server. It’s an easy first Pi project. If you have any questions, just leave a comment and I’ll answer to the best of my ability.

This video is based on the guide by Daniel Lemire. You can find his guide at http://lemire.me/blog/2016/04/02/setting-up-a-robust-minecraft-server-on-a-raspberry-pi/

Things you’ll need to download
Rufus – rufus.akeo.ie
Advanced IP Scanner – advanced-ip-scanner.com
Putty – putty.org
Raspbian – raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/
*Note: you’ll want the full version of Raspbian, not the lite version.

Here are some things I mention in the video that you’ll want to copy and paste (right click in the SSH window).

java -jar -Xms512M -Xmx1008M spigot-1.13.jar nogui

if ! screen -list | grep -q “minecraft”; then
cd /home/pi/minecraft
screen -S minecraft -d -m java -jar -Xms512M -Xmx1008M spigot-1.13.jar nogui

su -l pi -c /home/pi/minecraft/minecraft.sh
